A Good Walk
Spoiled
| Today, Saturday the 26th
of July, is Captain's Day at Sunnymere Golf Club. In addition to Mr Captain,
who quite naturally we will be hearing a great deal of, and his good lady wife
Millicent, we will also be meeting many other people brought together on this,
the most important day in the golf club calendar. Amongst them will be Robin
Garland, the Vice-Captain of the club, known to one and all as Mr Vice, who
doesn't have too good a day of it; and Andrew Arbuthnott, the Treasurer, who
has a much better day, choosing this day to play the best golf of his life. We
will be meeting George Fidler, a man who always plays Top Flight four golf
balls.... well until today that is. Richard Irwin, a man who firmly believes
that ladies should be allowed on the golf course each and every day between
one-o-clock and six-o-clock....a.m. Dogleg Davies, Rhys Jones-Jones, Sylvester
Cuddington, a man who is the proud owner of a newly-modelled golf swing; Trevor
Armstrong, a man whose mind is not always 100 per cent on his golf; Reg
Southfield, whose specialty is seeing to fellow golfers wives whilst their
husbands are out on the golf course. We will meet The Red Arrows; a few of the
lady members; club professional Dave Tobin and his new assistant, Darren; and
last but my no means least Dance DJ Daddy Rhythm. Finally we will be meeting a
few people who one wouldn't ordinarily expect to find on a golf course.
Constables Fearon and James. Firemen Jeffers and Blakey. Helicopter pilot Green
and film cameraman Morton. So welcome to one and all on Captain's Day. Have a
good round. |
