Thursday I went
to school today but there was nobody in my class as they were all on work
experience. According to our form teacher Mr Blakey I am the first pupil ever
to have got the sack from work experience, so that's quite a feather in my cap.
I asked him if I got a star for that. He said that getting the sack from work
experience was nothing to joke about. I said I wasn't joking, and that I'd got
the sack on purpose, so that if I got the sack once I started proper work I'd
know how to cope with it. I suggested to him that getting fired should be
included in the syllabus of all work experience courses as a lot of my
classmates will no doubt be getting the sack quite often when they start work,
so they'd need to know how to deal with it. He said he couldn't agree more with
me that many of my classmates will be getting the sack, and sooner rather than
later, but as they would no longer be under his stewarship he couldn't give a
monkeys. I thought he might send me home but just then the Head came in and
wanted to know why I was in school. The upshot was that he phoned the boss at
Marco Polo and told him that he couldn't sack me, and if he insisted the school
would be seeking out a new travel agent to book its school trips in future, so
I have to report back tomorrow. |
